Steak and Chorizo


I love the Leanin15 book by Joe Wicks.  This is from the first one, which has a red cover.  You can also find Joe here The Body Coach. There are some really tasty recipes that you can actually cook in 15 minutes or less. This is one of the best!  However I have tweaked it slightly to make it even quicker so instead of boiling the Kale I stir fry it in with everything else.  You can also make a great breakfast out of this by omitting the steak and using poached eggs instead.

Snip 13Instead of steak use either fried halloumi or poached eggs. Use Smoked Paprika to give it that Chorizo taste

Snip 12Add in a jacket potato or brown rice

Snip 2A hard one to life hack as it is so quick already but if you are really keen to eat then use 2 pans and fry the steak at the same time as cooking the Kale mix

Capture Kale recipes are appearing over the next 2 weeks so you will have no problem using your big bag of Kale!

Chorizo – a few of the Kale recipes also use chorizo and it is great in a omelette as is Kale

You can also create the same dish for breakfast using poached eggs instead of steak

Leanin15 Steak with Chorizo, Tomatoes and Kale (Serves 1)


  • 1 tbsp cooking fat of your choice – I use olive oil
  • 1 steak of your choice
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 35 g chorizo diced
  • 100 g kale
  • 4 cherry tomatoes cut in half
  • 1/2 tsp vinegar – I used balsamic but cider or red wine would work as well


  1. Heat half the oil in a pan and fry the steak to your liking
  2. Keep warm
  3. Add the rest of the oil and fry the chorizo for about 2 mins
  4. Add the tomatoes and Kale and stir fry until the Kale is on the cusp of wilting
  5. Add the vinegar and let it reduce to almost nothing
  6. Place the stir fry mix on a plate and top with your steak
